If you frequent hip-hop blogs there’s a good chance you’ve seen this 19 year old Chicago emcee’s name pop up. Chance The Rapper’s 2012 mixtape 10 Day is a testament to the creative benefits of a high school suspension, one that ultimately culminated in a supporting slot on Childish Gambino’s Camp tour and a track-stealing feature on They Don’t Like Me, off Gambino’s Royalty mixtape. If 10 Day was the alley, hopefully his forthcoming release Acid Rap is the oop. Based on Acid Rain everything seems on target.
